The City of Merriam, Kansas
The art gallery at Merriam Community Center is the only community recreational facility in Johnson County that has allocated permanent space for support of the visual arts.

By locating the gallery in a community center, the City provides exposure and education to the visual arts at a local level. In addition, the City supports creative expression and the exchange of ideas, as well as providing recognition for emerging and established artists.

The gallery presents 10 exhibits throughout the year, featuring local and regional artists who represent a diversity of technique and style. Each artist offers original paintings and prints for sale.

In addition, each March, the gallery presents the Heartland Artist Exhibition, a professionally juried show open to artists from across the United States.

All gallery exhibits are open to the public, free-of-charge.

Artists who wish to be considered for subsequent year exhibitions may call 913-722-7750 or email timm@merriam.org to request a prospectus. Slides and application deadline is mid-July for the subsequent year exhibitions.
